All about me!
You heard right! I really did go from being a police
officer to being a computer geek.
After owning a computer for 7 months I was hired by Microsoft.
It's all about problem solving.
Doesn't seem like such a stretch if you think about it, does it?
Since I am such a visual 3D type of thinker, it wasn't hard
to visualize data either. The big picture comes naturally to me.
Another product of my training as a police officer.
Next I had to learn that all users are not created equal and
the simpler the interface, the better.
I love a challenge!
Nothing is impossible and the documentation is not always
right!
A good software developer can work around the limitations.

Since 1994, I have been tinkering around in hyperspace. My German Shepherd
Dog site was one of the first of it's kind in the world. It ranked #1 in
search engines for several years. It's style was copied and I took it as
the ultimate compliment.
After my career took off, I didn't have much time for mentoring friends and
updating my own sites. I still find it difficult to get my own updates
completed.
Not only did I do web development then but did quite a bit of work in Microsoft
Office applications, becoming fluent in VBA, ADO, Visual Basic and Access.
That lead to my current area of expertise - Microsoft SQL Server.
When ASP came around, so did my apps. Corporate Intranet sites connected
to SQL Server databases from versions 6.5, 7.0, 2000 and now to 2005. I
also became an expert at data parsing. Much to my collegues amazement, I
wrote a T-SQL stored procedure to read emails and parse each peice of data into
their respective fields and tables - dynamically. Try that with SQLMail.
Naturally with the downturn in economy came the job losses of my collegues.
I took on work that was left behind and kept mission critical processes running.
This left little time for upgrades and new technology.
II have been updating my web sites and my clients websites for the past couple of
years to .NET and am working on some desktop software as well. The
platform has endless possibilities and has saved many people countless hours of
cut and paste.
So if you have an idea you need developed, just let me know and I'd be happy to
take a look.
